There is a reason the bread at Esthers Grocery tastes the way it does. It starts long before the city wakes up.
Meet Nati, our co owner and the baker behind every loaf.
Six days a week her alarm rings at 4.00am. By 4.30 she is mixing water and flour by hand, starting a slow fermentation that takes hours. No machines. Just patience, instinct and a lot of coffee. As the dough rises she preps pestos and the rest of the menu, and when the doors open she is often pulling the last schiacciata from the oven.
Raised in Argentina in a family where everything was made from scratch, she learned that good food is never rushed. After 23 years in Finland she has refined her craft, inspired by deep sourdough traditions and constant curiosity.
For Nati, bread is both science and feeling. She knows it worked the second she slices it open and sees those airy pockets. She loves it thin and crisp, soft inside but never heavy.
Her schiacciata is her favorite. It is not there to fill you with dough but to hold good things together, or to be enjoyed just as it is.
Ester`s Grocery has been a long time dream. We are so grateful for Nati and for all of you who walk in, sit down and share a moment with us.

One week in at Yrjönkatu Swimming Hall and we already feel right at home. It’s been such a joy meeting so many of you - familiar faces, new faces, swimmers, champagne drinkers, old school regulars - and getting to be part of the rhythm of this beautiful building.
We’re so happy to be here for these three months and excited for everything to come!

WE ARE OPEN🤌🏼
𝐄𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫’𝐬 𝐆𝐫𝐨𝐜𝐞𝐫𝐲 operates on the second floor throughout spring 2026, serving Italian-style sandwiches, cheeses, wines, beers, coffee and sweets.
Food and drinks can be ordered directly to your table from the second-floor café-restaurant.

📍 Yrjönkatu 21 B, 00120 Helsinki
𝐈𝐍𝐅𝐎:
Second floor access at Yrjönkatu Swimming Hall offers a calm, unhurried bathing experience.
A separate entrance ticket is required for the 2nd floor and can be purchased at the cash desk or in advance online. The ticket includes access to both floors, allowing you to swim as well as use the second floor facilities.
Your ticket includes:
• a private rest cabin (dressing room + storage)
• bathrobe, towel & sauna bench cover
• three saunas: wood-heated sauna, steam sauna & infrared sauna
• access to first floor saunas
• a table with chairs outside your cabin overlooking the pool
The visit lasts 2 hours, with the option to extend to 3 hours if the hall is not crowded. The second floor accommodates 40 guests at a time, and advance booking is recommended.
𝐘𝐫𝐣ö𝐧𝐤𝐚𝐭𝐮 𝐒𝐰𝐢𝐦𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐇𝐚𝐥𝐥 offers private sauna facilities that can be rented for a few hours by groups through the Varaamo online reservation service and accommodates up to 10 people. The rental includes use of the Marski Suite as well as three rest cabins located in the hallway of the suite, providing space for changing and relaxing.
During the rental, the group also has access to the services on both the first and second floor of the swimming hall.
